Hi,
It is Monday. We came home last night after a grueling drive. The weather was full spectum, from hot to cold to dry to wet pouring rain to heavy drizzle and foggy .After it got dark the wet roads reflecting the street and oncoming car headlights made driving difficult and stressful. Thank heavens it was uneventful. Chandi and Erik's car performed great.
OVERALL WE HAD A GREAT TRIP, we enjoyed good company, hospitality and food, we racked up about 3700 miles. He listened to two books on tape and plenty of good music.
We are busy sorting out all the memorbilia and stuff we bough, doing a mountain of laundry, sorting out a basketful of mail. We were told that we brought the rain and that makes us happy .
Anand Tirzah and Siddhartha came to visit after the school. We went for dinner at PERKINS.
Judy is going to see the Orthopod on Wenesday. We spent most of the day changing and setting up appoointments .

HI ALL HOPE YOU ARE ALL WELL. WE LOVE READING YOUR RESPONSES. WE HAD A LATE RESTFULL MORNING---I FELT MORE PAIN IN MY RIGHT SHOULDER THAN YESTERDAY BUT DISMISSED IT. WE HAD ALOVELY LUNCH AT THE PEACH TREE CAFE-PERFECT LADIES LUNCH PLACE IN AN OLD HOUSE ALL DECORATED. THEN GUYS LEFT SO JUNE AND I COULD EXPLORE THE WONDERFUL LITTLE SHOPS. THERE WERE TONS OF CUTE AND BEAUTIFUL THINGS. GOOD THING WE DIDN'T HAVE THE VAN. I COULD HAVE FILLED WITH TREASURES WE DON'T NEED. MY ARM GOT WORSE SO I FELT AN X-RAY WOULD JUST PUT MY MIND AT REST. WE HAD NOT X-RAYED IT IN BRANSON AFTER I TRIPPED AND FELL ON THEIR BRICK FLOOR SO SINCE THE BRUISE WAS HEALING FINE 5 DAYS LATER BUT THE PAIN WAS WORSE I WANTED TO CHECK. THE DOCTOR SAID THERE WAS INFLAMMATION IN THE ROTATOR CUFF BUT THAT SHOULD BE ALL SINCE MY PAIN WAS TOLERABLE. THE X-RAY TECH ASKED IF I HAD INJURED IT BEFORE SINCE HE SAW SOMETHING. PAD AND DR FOWLER WERE DEEP IN A DISCUSSION SO WE WAITED. WHEN THEY SAUNTERED IN THEY WERE VERY SURPRISED TO SEE A FRACTURE IN THE UPPER HUMERUS..SAID I MUST HAVE A VERY HIGH PAIN THRESHOLD MOST PATIENTS WOULD BE COMPLAINING BIG TIME. SO I GOT LOTS OF SYMPATHY AND CAN USE GUILT ON PAD FOR WEEKS TO COME. I JUST HAVE TO IMMOBILIZE IT FOR 3 WEEKS AND ALL WILL BE WELL. I GUESS I COME FROM OVERLY STOIC STOCK. GRANMA JUDY NOW HAS A LOVELY FASHION ACCESSORY AND TATA IS GETTING BETTER AT DOING MY HAIR.

Hi All,
I am eating a lot of humble pie.Clinically I did not feel she had a fracture so did Dr Fowler. Now Grama wears a arm immobilizing wrap. She will have to restrain in using the rt arm.
Dr Fowler is an interesting person. He is originally from Kirville texas, he studied Chemical engineering and worked as an engineer and after a few years went to medical school in Texas. He had lived in Newport news.He also lived in Rock creek between SIlverspring and Chevychase while attending school.
He along with two other couple started a school in Boerne several years ago and now have 250 students, It is a new direction for schooling but based on reaissance schools. It started with an article by Dorothy Sawyer( ?) a contemporary of Tolkin adn Lewis. She was questioning why the people in Reniassance time were beter educated than now. This was picked up by some one here in this country. The schooling stars with grammer, then Logic, and then Rhetoric, and they study Latin all through 8th grade. Mrs Fowler is the Librarian. Each year they add a new class and they paln to have through the 12th grade. He does not think highly of Home schooling, he said there were some students come to his school from home schooling.
I thought this might interest the educators in the family.
I might be wrong on the name.
Will keep you all up on what s happening. So long for now.
Pad and Judy.

Howdy Ya'll, This is G'ma Judy and I have reverted right back to Texas mode. Last night we were such grandparents comparing kiddie stories. Barb and Steve, if you read this a bruise did appear on my arm -more toward the inside of my arm . It still aches to lift but is so much better. Tomorrow I may give Pad a day off and see if I can't brush my own hair up! We enjoyed our visit very much and I am sure we will all find ourselves back in Eureka Springs one day. Shyla are you there? Do you know where your parents are? Hope all is well. Chandi I think I will stay home when Dad goes to S Dakota and join him later. I want to see when Mom or/and Dad will be scheduling surgeries, etc. xoxoxoxoxoxoxofor all of you . Please keep showing Alice our picture. Kips lecture was interesting-- who doesn't like Monarch butterflies? I learned a lot and his delivery style was perfect. Anand he has lots of tricks to make it easier to remember I think you would have given him an A. If we are back in time we would love to see your film in Silver Springs and we should be but everyone wants us to stay longer and we were already on a pretty tight schedule.Oh so good to be so wanted! Tirzah and Dhart - this talk on butterflies was at a big nature center and they have classes for children. I saw them each carrying a magnifying glass going out amongst the shrubs and trees and prickly pear cactus which are in bloom with yellow flowers. They check the milkweed plants for eggs of butterflies. When the adult volunteers do it they fill out intricate forms which Kip sends to the Unversity of Minnesota where they are studying the numbers and migration of Monarchs. I was thinking of your trip to the bug place with school. Looked like fun. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo for all of you too --whoops xoxoxoofor Auntie Shyla too. Tonight we go to a Thai restaurant in Bourne (pronounced Bernie) Tomorrow a day in town scoping out all the shops and later one day in San Antonio and one day in Fredericksburg, Texas ! T and S look it up on a map and you can see how far we have driven in Erik's car. That was a great idea to trade cars for the trip, we have saved on gas. So G'ma Judy can shop more. Miss you all very much but we are sure enjoying all our friends on this trip. Love, Tata and G'ma J

Hi All,
We are finally in Boerne, at Kips.
W ehad a lovely day for travel. The road we took was secondary highways after Fort worth .We saw the country side of the Hill country. We saw Johnson city, home of president Johnson, though the town was named for his grandfather. We ate lunch at Koffe Kup in a town called HICO. The food was sinfully delicious, it was rcommended by Kip.It was worth the wait for a table there because of bike riders and the local rsidents after church on a sunday.
It took longer than the interstate but was worth the extra time. There were nice rolling hills , rivers, creeks, fields of blooming prickly pear cactus. Quite a bit of the road was two lane with occassional extra lane on the uphill.
The area where Kips live is a gated community with guards and the give you the entry and exit codes which is good for the day-- if you are on the expected list.
The lot is 4 acres in the natural setting with local trees and shrubs and not converted to lawn. The house is one story sprawling structure facces west, on the back is a covered porch with rattan chairs and rockers. There are plenty of bird feeders and humming bird feeders. We saw dozens of humming birds and heard theem chatter. Saw a lot of native birds- finches doves and sparrows.
While we were eatong wae saw a deer feed in the backyard just lokked at the house for a long tiime I cant imagine what it was looking at or seeing, just in front of it wasa rabbitt-- how picturesque!!. Kips ahve two beautiful dogs Cheeks(a mixture of golden retriever and German shepherd) and wags a beagle I guess.
We ahd a scrumptious dinner with green salad, green pepper chicken enchilada and topped off with Lime coconut pie with real whipped cream.
We are going to Cibolo natuer center to hear Kip give a talk about Monarch Butterflies and their research about eggs and larva(of Monarchs) and counting they do for Univ of Minnesotta.
We have no pictures to add. It is getting late. Please don't mind the spelling.
Pad and Judy.

Hi All,
It is late on 4/29. We just had dinner at IHOP after driving all afternoon and evening. We are staying at Comfort suites in Denton TX, about 30 miles north of Dallas, in the vicinity of U of Tex.

I tried to blog on the way to Barb and Steve's in Branson. We had a very nice day on 4/26 for driving. We stopped at Clinton MO,on Rts 13/7.We found a delightful restaurant- an old Ben Franklin store coverted to a restaurant and gallery.
We met two characters - both women. One was a possibly homeless woman, mentally deranged? wearing a Dr Suess sox , unkempt greasy hair, and clothing. She apparently stole a cookie from the counter, and was wandering eating the cookie. She had ordered a chocolate cake which she ate also. She was paranoid about politicians, talking about oldtime politicians from Kansas city and Springfield. She apparently lives in Springfield.
The other woman was a retired army physical therapist possibly in her 70s,and lives in Clinton,MO. SHe was born in California MO and worked in New port News Va. SHe volunteers at local nursing home and senior centers teaching exercise.
She was lonesome and afraid that the other Seusslady would talk to her and wanted to keep talkng to us.She gave the impression of being of lesbian persuation. She talked about her sister and niece and nephew who live in a old Dutch community in Califronia.
I could not complete the blog because the computer battery got exhausted.Steve did not have Internet connection. They will be getting a DSL connection next week!!.
We hada great time with Barb and Steve.
We had two excellent days in Branson. We talked and ate and remembered old times. It was a fun day at Silver Dollar City. Pad and Judy rode a brand new ride which was unique. It was a big disc-we sat on motorcycle type seats . Instead of belts or harnesses a back part came out of it's hiding place and attached itself to your behind so tight you would never get out on your own. Then the disc would spin very fast and also go up the sides of a u-shaped base. Hard to explain but fun!! For dinner we ate at a friendly and overly generous Greek restaurant. On Friday Steve drove us to Eureka Springs, Ark. His grandfather used to live there and they are familiar with it all. There are hilly streets full of beautiful old ornate Victorian homes , many of them B and B,s and more shops full of interesting stuff than you could visit in several days. So we hope a year from this fall we can meet Barb and Steve there and all stay in a B and B and just dine and shop to our hearts content. After tearing ourselves away we went back to their oasis on Lake Taneycomo.Pad orchestrated an Indian dinner and we all cooked. Chanin,Rick,Jacob and Grace joined us and seemed to enjoy the shrimp, potatoes, rice, eggplant, raita and puris. We just ate ourselves silly. Their lake house is very comfortable and homey. We esp. love sitting on the big porch and watching the colorful birds joyfully pecking away at the many bird feeders, the lake glisten in the sun ,the lights at night and maybe mostly when the rain was pouring down filling up the low level of the lake and washing the spring pollen from the air. Now it is late in Denton, Tx.and we have a new adventure to rest up for at Kip and June's. We will blog some more from there. Love to all, Pad and Judy
